Community Guidelines

Respect, Integrity & Sovereignty

Effective Date: February 17, 2026 · Last Updated: February 17, 2026

Our Mission

Keeping traditions alive in a connected world—through respect and technology.

Ejiogbe Voices is a global cultural intelligence platform built on the principles of cultural respect, Indigenous Data Sovereignty, and community-led governance. We exist to preserve, share, and protect traditional knowledge in ways that honor the communities who hold it. Every interaction on this platform—whether you're listening to a recording, asking Agent Fenix a question, or uploading content—carries responsibility. By using Ejiogbe Voices, you agree to uphold these guidelines and to engage with our shared cultural heritage in ways that reflect dignity, accuracy, and respect.

Respect for Protocol

Not all knowledge is meant for everyone. Communities define what is shareable and what is not. Some teachings are reserved for initiates, specific lineages, or particular ceremonial contexts. Others are meant to be shared openly to educate and inspire. You are required to:

  • Follow community-defined permissions. If content is marked as restricted or for educational use only, respect those boundaries.
  • Respect distinctions between public and protected knowledge. Don't attempt to access, share, or repurpose materials that are clearly designated as restricted.
  • Refrain from re-sharing restricted materials outside the platform without explicit permission from the source community.
  • Report suspected leaks of protected knowledge to our Cultural Integrity Team immediately.

Authenticity First

Ejiogbe Voices is a living repository that safeguards primary sources—recordings, manuscripts, prayers, songs, stories, oral histories—and connects them to their cultural contexts. Accuracy and authenticity are non-negotiable. You are required to:

  • Cite sources accurately. Always attribute content to its original practitioners, communities, and lineages.
  • Avoid inventing or distorting information. If you don't know, say so. Don't fill gaps with speculation or non-traditional sources.
  • Preserve context. Knowledge is inseparable from the cultural, spiritual, and historical contexts in which it was created. Don't strip away meaning for convenience.
  • Flag errors or inaccuracies when you encounter them. Help us maintain the highest standards of integrity.
  • Avoid "telephone game" distortions. Don't paraphrase, simplify, or remove nuance in ways that change the original meaning.

Community Governance

Technology is the enabler; the community is the gatekeeper.

Ejiogbe Voices is not a top-down platform. Communities, elders, practitioners, and knowledge holders have final authority over their own traditions. Governance decisions—what gets shared, how it's framed, who gets access—rest with those who hold the lineage. You are required to:

  • Respect the authority of practitioners, elders, and community councils. If a community says something should not be shared, that decision is final.
  • Accept that different communities have different rules. What's shareable in one tradition may not be in another. Adapt accordingly.
  • Engage with humility. You are a guest in these cultural spaces, even if you are a practitioner yourself.
  • Honor governance decisions even when you disagree. If you have concerns, raise them respectfully through proper channels—not by violating protocol.

Ethical Contribution

Contributing to Ejiogbe Voices means more than uploading files. It means ensuring that every piece of content has clear consent, accurate provenance, and appropriate context. If you contribute recordings, texts, translations, or metadata, you are required to:

  • Obtain explicit, informed consent from all individuals whose voices, images, or knowledge appear in your contribution.
  • Provide full provenance: Who recorded it? When? Where? Under what circumstances? What lineage or tradition does it represent?
  • Confirm that you have the right to share it. Do not upload content that belongs to someone else without their permission.
  • Mark content accurately. If it's restricted, say so. If it's AI-generated or machine-translated, disclose that clearly.
  • Avoid uploading deceptive or fraudulent content, including fake lineages, invented rituals, or content falsely attributed to elders or communities.

AI Etiquette

Agent Fenix and the Learning Lab are here to help you learn—not to replace living authority or to extract restricted patterns. AI is a tool for discovery, education, and accessibility, but it is not an oracle. When interacting with Agent Fenix, you are required to:

  • Treat Agent Fenix as an assistant, not an authority. Always verify AI-generated insights with primary sources or living practitioners.
  • Don't attempt to "jailbreak" or manipulate the AI into revealing restricted knowledge or bypassing community protocols.
  • Verify AI outputs before sharing them. Machine translation and voice synthesis are powerful but imperfect. Cross-check important information.
  • Use the Learning Lab to deepen your understanding, not to extract knowledge for commercial use or appropriation.
  • Never use AI to launder the provenance of stolen or restricted knowledge. If you didn't have permission to access it in the first place, rephrasing it with AI doesn't make it yours.

Harassment & Appropriation

Ejiogbe Voices has zero tolerance for hate speech, harassment, cultural appropriation, or commercialization of knowledge without community consent. The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:

  • Hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or cultural identity.
  • Harassment, bullying, or threats directed at other users, contributors, or community members.
  • Cultural appropriation, including using traditional practices, symbols, or knowledge for personal profit or clout without proper training, initiation, or community permission.
  • Commercialization of knowledge that was shared under educational or non-commercial terms. Don't turn freely shared teachings into paid products without explicit consent.
  • Fraudulent claims of lineage, initiation, or authority within a tradition you are not legitimately connected to.

Reporting

If you witness behavior that violates these guidelines—unauthorized sharing of restricted knowledge, fraudulent content, harassment, or misrepresentation—flag it immediately. Reports can be submitted via:

  • The in-platform reporting tool (available on all content pages)
  • Email: legal@ejiogbevoices.com
  • Include as much detail as possible: links, screenshots, and context to help us investigate.

All reports are reviewed by our Cultural Integrity Team and, when appropriate, by relevant community councils. We take these matters seriously and will respond promptly.
